Today in the 31-Day Challenge we read…
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20
If God is at work making all things new, what’s our part in it? Quite honestly, it is easy to get overwhelmed by the magnitude of the needs we see around us. Jesus modeled many acts of service and love for His followers, but His last instruction (The Great Commission) shed light on our primary role in God’s plan: to make disciples. As we make disciples who in turn make disciples, the Body of Christ grows and more agents of change are made at the same time. So, while we engage our communities in a variety of ways, helping restore the Kingdom of God, we cannot lose sight of the “main thing”. Jesus has told us to make disciples.
Your Day 6 Challenge is to talk about disciple-making with 1 or 2 of your closest friends. Pray now that they would ask questions, catch the vision and even join forces to be a disciple that would make disciples.
