Today in the 31-Day Challenge we read…

“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet. You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.” Matthew 5:13-14

Today it’s quite common to hear the phrase mistakenly attributed to Francis of Assisi: “Preach the gospel at all times; when necessary, use words.” While this may serve to remind us of the importance that our faith and actions need to be in sync, more often than not it’s used as a cop-out. Many well-intended Christians think that, as long as they live by godly rules and promote them in the marketplace (being salt), they have done their part. This is not the case. God has also called us to talk the talk, not just walk it. We are to be both salt and light. Jesus modeled an integrated ministry of presence and proclamation, of demonstration and declaration. How about you? Are you both an image-bearer and a message-bearer?

Your Day 13 Challenge is to watch the video below and answer the following questions: How does this video challenge or affirm you? What actions will you take in light of this?
