Today in the 31-Day Challenge we read…
“We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:5
Every culture has elements that are in need of renewal. These reflect places where God’s Story brings redemptive tensions that challenge the culture’s story. These areas of challenge can be used to create a contrast with or provide a stronger appeal for God’s Story. The key is to actively look for these differences and then be prepared to capitalize on them to generate constructive dialogue. Do you currently identify redemptive tensions that challenge others? How can you use them as a positive means to share the Good News?
Your Day 12 Challenge is to do the following:
- Consider the “culture” God has called you to engage and make a list of at least 3 challenging redemptive tensions (places where God’s Story intersects the Story of Your Context in a way that challenges or confronts).
- Identify a key scripture passage that connects with each of those tensions and describe how you would use that scripture to engage someone in conversation.
