At one point or another, we’ve all received training to be more effective at our jobs, to learn new skills, or to grow personally. In 2 Timothy, Paul reminds Timothy of the importance and power of the Word of God in our Kingdom training. And there’s a purpose behind it, “So that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” When we apply these verses, we often think in terms of our individual spiritual growth or our church life. But what about our work? How might God’s Word and a biblical worldview developed from it make us thoroughly equipped for every good work God might want us to accomplish in the marketplace? How might scripture be profitable to us and our business? How does the Bible guide and correct you and your relationships on the job? How are you using it to equip you for everything God wants to do through you in your work arena? Be specific. Ask God and He’ll show you.
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Tim 3:16-17
