In John 10:10, Jesus reminds us of a vital truth, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” Although this is a deep spiritual truth, it’s also very practical. When it comes to our desire to live out our faith in the marketplace, the Enemy doesn’t really have any new tricks up his sleeve. His desire is to kill (your body, your calling, and your purpose), to steal (your joy and your faith), and to destroy (your relationships). Do you sense Satan attacking right now through one of these areas? The first step is to recognize it but then we need to take an opposite action. That’s what Jesus did. Christ has come to give us four R’s of abundant life: to Resurrect (put new life into that which Satan sought to kill), to Redeem (bring back and multiply that which Satan tried to steal), to Restore (broken relationships that Satan was out to destroy), and to Release (you into the fruit and freedom of following God’s plan for your life).
How is Satan trying to kill, steal, or destroy in this season of your life? Be specific. What opposite action might you take in light of John 10:10 that would lead you into a season of release, into abundant life?
